Homes and land

Homes, land and the lines between them

Buying the first house, selling the home place, splitting off a building lot, or settling where the fence really goes.

  • Buying and selling a home

We read the agreement before you sign it and handle the deed and the closing.

  • Farmland and lots

Subdividing, easements for a lane or a well, and sales between relatives.

  • Boundary and fence questions

Reading the old deeds and the survey, then talking with the neighbor before anyone files.

  • Leases

Farm leases, apartment leases and the rental above the shop, written for both sides.

How it usually goes

From an agreement to the keys

  1. 01

    Send us the paperwork

The agreement of sale, the listing or the deed you have. We read it within a few days.

  2. 02

    We sort out the title

Liens, easements and old mistakes in the deed, fixed before the closing date.

  3. 03

    Closing day

We explain every page at the table, and record the deed with the county afterward.

Homes and land, asked across the table

Do I need a lawyer if I already have a real estate agent?

Your agent finds the buyer or the house. We read what you sign, check the title and make sure the deed says what you agreed.

My neighbor says the fence is on his side. What now?

Bring your deed and any survey. Most of these end with a letter and a new survey, not a lawsuit.

Can I sell part of the farm to my son?

Yes, though it usually means a subdivision plan, a new deed and a talk about the price your other children will see.
